State Bank of India offers various unique and security-packed debit cards, which you can apply for online. It will take up to seven working days to reach your address.
But, to start using your SBI Debit Card, you need to generate ATM Pin, which you can do in four ways for the same.
SBI Debit Card ATM Pin is a four-digit personal identification number you need to enter while withdrawing cash from ATM or making purchases at the online website or various merchant establishments.
To start using SBI Debit Card, you must generate your SBI ATM PIN, and you can do it through Internet Banking via SMS, SBI ATM and IVRS.
SBI ATM PIN Generation Methods
For the first time, to use the SBI debit card, you need to activate your debit card, and it will be activated after generating the ATM PIN. The State Bank of India provides various methods to generate ATM Pin.
- Using SBI ATM
- By SMS
- Online
- Through Phone Call (IVRS)
Using SBI ATM
Following are the steps to generate a debit card ATM PIN using SBI ATM.
1. Visit the nearest SBI ATM, and insert your new SBI ATM card.
2. Select the ‘PIN Generation‘ option on the ATM screen.
3. Enter your 11-digit SBI Account number and confirm.
4. Next, enter your 10-digit registered mobile number and confirm.
5. You will receive a 4-digit OTP PIN on your registered mobile number. It will be valid for two days, and you can use it to set your new ATM PIN at any SBI ATM.
Change PIN in SBI ATM
The OTP PIN is valid for only 24 hours. So you have to generate a new PIN by visiting any SBI ATM.
1: Insert your debit card and select the ‘Banking‘ option on the ATM screen.
2: Enter any number between 10 to 99 on the ATM screen, and tap on Yes.
3: Enter your OTP PIN, and next, tap on the PIN change option.
4: Here, enter your new PIN and re-enter.
The PIN has been changed successfully, which will be displayed on the ATM screen.
Through SBI Internet Banking
Following are the steps to generate SBI ATM PIN online:
1: Login to https://www.onlinesbi.com using your internet banking credentials.
2: Click on e-Service. Select ATM Card Services on the next page.

3: Click ATM PIN Generation.
4: You will get two options: Using One Time Password and Using a Profile password for authentication.
5: Next, select the account in which your debit card is linked. Select the debit card for which you wish to generate the ATM PIN.
6: Enter the first two digits of the ATM PIN as per your choice, and the last two digits of the PIN will be sent to your registered mobile number.
7: On the next page, enter all four digits, i.e. the first two digits self-chosen and the two digits received on your registered mobile number and click on Confirm. These four digits will be your new ATM/debit card PIN.

By SMS
You need to send an SMS from your registered mobile number to 567676. Type ‘PIN’ in capital letters, space, the last four digits of the debit card, space and the last four digits of your account number. Send it to 567676, and you will get a four-digit OTP PIN on your registered mobile. It will be valid for 24 hours, and you will have to generate a new PIN within it.
- Make sure you have sufficient balance on your mobile. It will charge Rs.3.00/- per SMS.
- Send an SMS from your registered mobile number linked with your SBI Bank account.
- SMS: – PIN <space>DDDD<space>AAAA to 567676 from your registered mobile number. DDDD is the last four digits of your debit card, and AAAA is the last four digits of your account number.
- You will receive an OTP PIN on your registered mobile number (valid for 24 hours), which you can use to set up your new PIN at any SBI ATM.
Through Phone Call – IVRS
You have to call the SBI customer care centre from your registered mobile number. The phone numbers are 1800 425 3800/18001122 11/ 080 26599990.
- You must enter your SBI debit card and account numbers.
- You will get an OTP PIN on your registered mobile number.
- It will be valid for 2 days or 24 hours.
- Now, you have to create New PIN at any SBI ATM. Select the ‘Banking‘ option, and change your ATM PIN.
